Black & Blue

This past Labour Day long weekend, electronic music fans of the GTA were treated to the yearly “Labour of Love” celebration at The Guvernment entertainment complex. The event effectively unites all electronic music fans, regardless of the particular sub-genre they may be sympathetic to. For us, it’s pretty easy to pass on the likes of David Guetta et al. and set up ‘camp’ in the electro tent (that is situated outside of the actual Guv nightclub).

This year’s electro tent acts included the likes of AutoErotique, D.I.M. and Tiga; none of which were more memorable than the latter. Tiga once again proved that, despite his unorthodox means of self-promotion, he is one of the best pure DJs in the world. His musical selection was mind-numbing, his mixes were invisible, and most important of all,  he took the time of point out our Turbo Recording t-shirts.

One of the biggest tracks from that night was this Tiga remix of Miike Snow’s “Black & Blue”. Given that we saw Miike Snow live back in August, we can honestly say we’re huge fans of the original track — but Tiga turns this piece into a tech house masterpiece. Grab the 320 below, and eat your heart out.

Turbo t-shirts… were you guys at circa when he was there this past summer?

  • The Vamp

Yes we were, one of the best shows I've seen.

  • The Vamp

Haha yaaa… we take our music very seriously. But in all honestly, I think the anger was directed toward one ridiculous individual in particular.

  • Groupies

hahah I remember you guys. Why did u get so mad at people dancing on stage?
