Summer Sessions LIVE: Volume III

Our latest Summer Session event was a very special edition, where we were lucky enough to piggy-back one of the most established Saturday night weeklies in the city of Toronto — Faktory Saturday. The Faktory’s Faceless Management Showcase was the perfect opportunity for us to expand our horizons for the Summer Session initiative, and record some mixes in front of one of the city’s most die-hard electronic music crowds. Needless to say, neither the dancers, or the DJs disappointed. This volume will feature mixes from Golden Gloves, and Meech, both of which showcased some highly-anticipated new production. Here we go…

MEECH | electroTO Summer Sessions: Volume III

Once Golden Gloves pulled the plug around 1:30am at The Social, it was time for Meech to takeover the reigns until 3am. He quickly put his personal stamp on the evening with a couple tributes to the classic grooves, only to quickly move into some playful house, then eventually descending into the deep vibes. Pay special attention to the conclusion of Meech’s set, where he debuts his newest original production I Want, which went particularly well with Zuluhuupz’s Papaya.

GOLDEN GLOVES | electroTO Summer Session: Volume III

We’ve gone on-and-on about our vehement support for Golden Gloves many time before on this space, and yet, we still feel it’s necessary to endorse the work that these guys do. Their latest mix for us single-handedly rescued The Social’s crowd around midnight on that fine Saturday in July when this mix was recorded. Indeed, this hour and a half collection effectually set the stage for an evening that went well past 4am, exploring virtually all crevices of tech house. One thing to certainly look out for is the newest Golden Gloves production, entitled Tremors, which is the concluding track here — and I should mention, it’s well worth the wait.
