It’s automatic. There is no questioning it.
We sift through hours worth of new music everyday, with titles by the hippest and most relevant producers in the game, and we enjoy it to no end, but when we’re yearning for something on another level, a different dimension of electronic music, the buck stops with Tiga — plain and simple. I would even argue that he’s the top name in disc-jockeying and producing, as a combined art, in the modern day.
The latest example of the production mastery by The Dove, as he is often referred, comes in the form of a remix for LCD Soundsystem, which was released at the beginning of this week. The tune is titled I Can Change, but frankly, that’s the last thing we want from Tiga, as this remix is equipped with all of the most essential elements that we’ve come to know and love from the Montreal-based marvel. Take a highly distorted kickdrum (likely a 909), add the impeccable snares, a 4-minute vocal-soaked intro, a minute-and-a-half long vocal interlude, and an anti-climactic, yet awe-inspiring conclusion — this one has the Turbo grandmaster’s fingerprints all over it. Just a word of caution however, as this piece is as slow-burning as they come, so sit-back, relax and bear witness to pure, and unrelenting talent.
