There is said to be a time and a place for everything, and there has been no better time, nor place for an announcement of this magnitude. James Connolly better known as L-Vis 1990 has revealed details to what I believe will become the dance music record of this decade. Entitled ‘Neon Dreams’ (on PMR Records) the Night Slugs counterpart has enlisted the intellect of Nick Hook, Para One and Julio Bashmore to bridge this tessellation of sound and texture. Traveling between Paris and New York, such nomadic tendencies will undoubtedly embed a vast decor of emotion throughout a wide plain of eclectic endeavours. It’s no secret that L-Vis has claimed rights to the term ‘future’, his vision far beyond the relevance of today, left to flourish in the trials of tomorrow.
In the late nineties the likes of Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx defined the art of the dance music album. Their albums transcended time and any musical fads, but most of all they took you on a journey. Creating Neon Dreams for me was about recapturing these elements that made me fall in love with dance music all those years ago.

On September 26th, fifteen stories will be told, the characters will change, the settings will shift, the interpretations will sprout in every conceivable direction, but the words spoken through the gifted production in those tracks will remain timeless. While titles like Vague Flashes, Shy Light & Illusions keep us salivating, here’s something to hold you off, as we wait patiently, with our minds wide open.
