First off, happy belated Haloween everyone. Secondly we’ve got a banger for you. By banger we mean banger in the traditional sense, the kind that makes a party 6 times more sweaty and a crowd 6 times more crazy.
This one’s a collabo that’s been floating around for a little while from Foamo and Detboi of Cheap Thrills fame who is known for throwing down some sweaty, fast paced beats.
It’s called “Girls Dem Go” and it’s a whole lot of bounce with an almost old school feeling synth that’s reminding me of a cowboy shootout in Chinatown for some reason. People let me know if you feel that vibe. Anyways this is really one that will set it off and will get the Girls Dem going for sure so download so pop this one into a set and watch it do wonders.

Kye Gibbon a.k.a. Foamo is a producer out of the U.K. that I have been a huge fan of since way back when, although my dedication was wavering. I was assured, however, that he was the real deal after his “Half In Love With Elizabeth” remix (however late into his career that may have been). Not to say that his own productions are not superbly produced, but I am personally more of a fan of Foamo’s ability to take any song and make it exponentially better. He’s proved this time and time again and it is this talent that more than likely earned him his Ibiza residency at Space.
He’s been hailed by DJs, and those in the know alike, as the producer to look out for in 2009 and he’s more than lived up to expectations. Delivering, among others, the re-edit of Skream’s Let’s Get Ravey Mix of “In For the Kill” that was huge recently, a remix of Franz Ferdinand’s “No You Girls” and more recently, his flawless remix of Diplo and Laidback Luke’s “Hey!”
The latter is the track that we present to you today. It’s set to release on July 14th as a part of the Hey! Remixes EP being released on Dim Mak in North America and on Southern Fried everywhere else in the world. The EP includes remixes by Nadastrom, L-VIS 1990, Last Japan and other big names. It is bound to be something scary based on the remixes that I’ve heard so far. Don’t forget to grab that when it comes out, and while you wait for that you can ready yourself with the full 320 of Foamo’s killer remix.

By this point, everyone in the world is familiar with the U.K. electro-pop artist Elly Jackson a.k.a. La Roux and are no doubt familiar with the song “Bulletproof”, which has been taken on and made into electric beauty by the likes of Foamo, Tepr and Zinc.
This time a pair of French DJs known as Just A Band have taken it on and turned the electronic pop song into what has quickly become my favorite remix of the track, aside from the banger produced Foamo. This mix uses more of the vocals, yet provides a perfectly grungy bass line, which constantly builds under the vocal. This makes for a track that truly bangs but will have you trying hard to stop yourself from singing along at the same time.
Yes there are a million remixes out there, and yes everyone has become extremely familiar with the lyrics etc. Regardless, these boys are cranking out a number of official remixes and they’re doing one hell of a job so far. I love this one, maybe (dare I even think it) even more than Foamo’s version.
