Sascha Braemer

After being questioned earlier today for some of the content we published, I’ve decided to be accountable, and respond the only way I know how, with good music. But not just any track you see, I want it to be as snobby and elusive as it gets, so as to satisfy the insatiable desires of the electronic music aristocracy who pass judgment wherever they see fit — and who better to answer the call than our German friend of Dirty Bird Records fame, Sascha Braemer. Today marked the release of Braemer’s Dirty Talk EP, which dropped on German underground label Dekadent Schallplaten, based out of Sulingen, Germany (a very far ways away from Los Angeles for all you geographers out there).

The most intriguing work sourced from this three track EP, is entitled The Bumbler — a track that incorporates some serious tribal elements, with all things tech. The kicks are deep and dark, the vocal sample is hypnotizing, and the instrumental interlude is as soulful as it gets. When all is said and done, it’s classic Braemer, and requires a trained ear to truly appreciate what it’s all about, as opposed to fist pumping and Ed Hardy garb, you see.

Ghost Hand

February 23, 2010

You’re going to find yourself listening to the track below, wondering when it finally gets going. Well, let me be blatantly honest with you, it’s slow burn the whole way. But sometimes, that’s exactly what we need in our lives. Often times, our nine-to-five grind utterly consumes us, to a point where we forget the what is simple, yet so beautiful.

Ghost Hand, a techno masterpiece from Sascha Braemer, is as anti-climactic as they get, yet illuminating in its own right. The beat skips along in Popof-like style, and the spiritual interlude around 3:45 could bring an entire church congregation to their feet in sheer jubilation. Quite frankly, I’m addicted to this piece right now, so I felt compelled to share it. Please let me know if it sparks the same feeling in you.

Drawing First Blood

February 22, 2010

Not only do we have great musical companions in Toronto, but we’re happy to say that we have electronic friends all around the globe, and none more gracious then the Belgian duo of Aerotronic. We’re very proud to announce that the boys just released their inaugural EP on the Monkey See Monkey Do (MSMD) label, which goes by the name of First Blood EP. The three track EP is all things ferocious electro, permitting virtually no rest for the weak-hearted.

The EP has been taking over Europe, and we’re happy to say that these guys have really come into their own as young producers. Rumour has it that a second EP titled Sex + Cigarettes is on the way, in addition to a host of remixes for Modek and Clash The Disco Kids. Indeed, this Belgian duo are keeping busy, so don’t sleep, and check out the preview of their EP below.
