The remix package for Vitalic’s “Indie Dance” track Second Lives dropped, featuring the symphonic original track alongside 5 remixes (four of Second Lives and one of Flashmob. Out of the four remix artists that I was familiar with – two of which being the Bloody Beetroots and Lifelike – my favorite is Popof’s techno rendition of Flashmob, which should come as no surprise at this point. However I wouldn’t bother posting this tune if it was just another Popof track.
We all know what Popof’s work sounds like and therefore know what we might expect this to sound like but it’s the fact that the Parisian breaks the confines of his usual productions that makes it so great and worth a listen. It is this evolution that probably contributes to Popof’s fame and to the fact that he’s booked almost every night from now until September. Seriously.
With his remix of Zoo Brazil last week and this release today it’s looking like Popof may be creating a new sound for himself and as you well know there’s nothing we love more than some fresh production ideas from an established artist. You can check out the Second Lives EP and remixes here.
